Pressure washing in Merton.

A dirty patio and a patio that holds water need different conversations. For homes in Wimbledon, Raynes Park, Colliers Wood and Morden, we start with the surface, its joints and where the wash water can go before agreeing the cleaning scope.

Ask about your outdoor space
Sandstone patio surrounded by ferns, grasses and an aged brick garden wall.

Show us what happens after rain.

If water sits on the patio, include a photograph of it. Show the lowest point, nearby drains, air bricks and the doors into the house. A dry photograph helps us identify the paving; the wet one can reveal a practical problem that the clean alone will not solve.

Pressure washing is not a drainage repair. A blocked drain, poor falls or a sunken section may need separate investigation before cleaning is useful. Tell us about any previous overflow, and do not assume a road gully is an appropriate route for wash water. Runoff arrangements belong in the job plan.

A blocked road gully has a different reporting route.

Merton Council’s drain guidance distinguishes ordinary road gullies, Red Routes and sewers. It directs residents to the council for blocked or damaged gullies on other roads, to TfL for Red Route problems, and to Thames Water for sewer issues or overflowing manholes.

Use that guidance if the problem is beyond your property. For a private drain, explain the symptoms when you enquire and arrange appropriate investigation where needed. Our cleaning quote does not include sewer clearance or a repair unless a separate, suitable scope has been agreed.

Merton Council: report drain or sewer problems

Plan the paving and deck as different surfaces.

A rear garden can have porcelain by the kitchen, stone steps and timber further out. Send one photograph of each material. If a deck has a product name or care sheet, include it; the method for sound concrete is not a default for boards or delicate stone.

Tell us about nearby planting, ponds and places where children or pets need access. We agree the preparation and any temporary restrictions around the specific method. If treatments or joint work need drying time, the plan may extend beyond the washing day.

Merton cleaning questions.

Will cleaning stop puddles forming on my Wimbledon patio?

Cleaning may remove surface dirt, but it does not correct the levels, repair a drain or rebuild sunken paving. Send a wet-weather photograph so we can separate the cleaning request from a drainage problem.

Can you clear a blocked gully outside my Morden house?

A public road gully is not part of our residential pressure-washing scope. Merton Council’s reporting page explains the route for council roads, Red Routes and sewers. For water or sewage coming from a manhole, follow the sewer guidance rather than trying to wash it away.

Can the patio and deck be finished in one day?

Possibly, depending on size, condition, access and the methods agreed. Timber finishing, treatments, drying and re-sanding may need a separate stage. We confirm a programme after looking at both surfaces.
