What actually changes the cost of a clean?

Two patios of the same size can take quite different work. A useful quote tells you what is included, not just a number per square metre.

Clean herringbone block paving outside a terraced house.

Start with the area, then look closer

Measure the length and width of simple sections if you can. Do not worry about getting a complicated garden exact: photographs and rough dimensions are enough to begin a conversation. Tell us whether the material is block paving, slabs, timber or something else.

Condition changes the work

A thin layer of mud is different from established growth or a deep oil mark. Broken pointing and loose blocks may mean the cleaning scope needs to wait for repairs. A quote should identify treatments and exclusions rather than promise that every mark will go.

Access is part of the job

A drive next to the van is different from a back garden reached through the house. Water supply, parking, steps, protection and runoff arrangements all affect setup. Include these in the enquiry rather than discovering them on the day.

Ask about joints and the return visit

For suitable block paving, joint refilling may be needed after cleaning and drying. Check whether it is included, what material is proposed and whether a separate visit is allowed for. Sealing is a separate choice, not a compulsory finish.

Get a scope you can compare

Ask for the areas, method, preparation, treatments, joint work, cleanup, programme and total payable amount, including any applicable tax. Our prices are confirmed individually. The written quote should make the full cost and scope clear before you decide.
